It is the memorial with 42-meter height. It was developed as a memory of the soldiers for their sacrifices in the 1st world war held in 1971. Total 82,000 Indian soldiers died in that world war and this great architect piece is designed for reminding their sacrifices for the country.
Timing & Expenses: The opening time for India gate is 05:00 am and it is closed on 12:00 am in the day.You can visit this historical place free of any charge because entry is free.
Rashtrapati Bhawan
This is another place to visit in Delhi and also included in our tour package. It is a grand sized mansion and the residence of the Honorable President of India.
Timing & Expenses: You can also visit this place without any fees. Its entry timing is from 09:30 am to 05:30 pm.
Rajghat
Rajghat is a monument designed in the memory of the father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi. It was the place where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated. It was situated on the west bank of Yamuna. The national leaders join the place together on the birth and death anniversary of Gandhiji on Rajghat. Every Friday the prayer meetings are done on Rajghat because Friday is the day of Gandhiji is death.
Timing & Expenses:The timing of this memorial is from 06:30 am to 06:00 pm and there are no fees for the visitors.
Humayun Tomb
It is the tomb of great Mughal emperor Humayun and was developed in 1570AD. It was the 1st example of Mughal architecture in India. Humayun’s widow Haji Begum is behind the development of this monument.
Timing & Expenses: The timing for this historical place is from 06:00 am to 07:00 pm with entry fees of rupees 30 for Indian visitors and 500 for foreigners.
Qutub Minar
This great building was built in 1220AD by the founder of Delhi Sultanate Qutb Ud-Din Aibak. It was also a UNESCO worked heritage visiting site and situated in Mehrauli in west Delhi. It is near the Delhi Airport.
Timing & Expenses: You can visit this place from 09:00 am to 04:30 pm. The entry tickets are rupees 30 for the Indian visitors and 500 for foreigner visitor.
Red Fort
It was the monument built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. It was developed in 1647 AD and was called the Red Fort. The city of Delhi was developed around this grand fort during that time and its name was Shahjahanabad.
Timing & Expenses: The entry ticket for the red fort is rupees 35 for Indians visitors and 500 for foreigners. It is closed on Monday and timings are from 06:00 am to 06:00 pm.
Jama Masjid
It was also built by Shah Jahan in 1656AD. Jama Masjid is considered as the largest from all the Islamic mosques present in India.
Timing & Expenses: The opening time is 07:00 am to 12:00 pm and then 01:30 pm to 06:00 pm. The entry ticket is not required for a simple visit but when you are going to visit it with the camera then you will be charged rupees 200 for that. Remember that this fee is applicable for digital camera user not for the mobile camera.
Lotus Temple
It was a special temple built like a lotus flower and is built in 1986 as a Bahai house of worshipers. People from all faith, color or caste are allowed to get into the temple for prayer. Because of its unique shape and a symbol unity for all religion, it is a center of attraction for the visitors. It was situated in Kalkaji in South Delhi.
Timing & Expenses: It will be open at 09:00 am and closed on 05:30 pm. Like Red for it is also closed on Monday. There are no entry fees but you need permission for carrying the camera inside the temple.
Gurudwara Bangla Sahib
It is one of the 10 historical Sikh temples in Delhi. It is situated near the Connaught place market in Delhi. It was built in the memory of 8th Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Har Krishan Ji. He lived and cured many poor people suffering from a cholera epidemic and smallpox with the holy water from Gurudwara. In present time it is one of the most visited Sikh shrines situated in Delhi.
Timing & Expenses: It is open 24/7 for people of all religions. People visit to see its beauty and holiness and the best timing to visit is from 05:00 am to 10:00 pm. There are no entry fees for any visitors.
Birla Temple
It is also called Laxmi Narayan temple in Delhi. It is a Hindu shrine built for the worship of Lord Vishnu. It was built by Baldeo Das Birla in 1933AD. It was opened for the 1st time by Mahatma Gandhi in 1947.
Timing & Expenses: You can visit it without any entry fees from 04:30 to 01:30 pm and 02:30 pm to 09:00 pm. Photography is not allowed inside the temple.
Shri Digambar Jain Lal Mandir
It is also called Jain Lal Temple and is one of the oldest Jain Shrines present in Delhi. It was built in 1658AD and is a popular Avian Veterinary Hospital in Delhi. It is situated in Chandni Chowk opposite to Red Fort.
Timing & Expenses: It is opened from 05:00am to 11:00am and 06:00pm to 09:00pm with no entry fees.
Iskcon Temple
It is one of the oldest temple Iskcon’s, built in 1998 and opened by Atal Bihari Vajpayee. There is a museum of Vedic culture to visit, Ramayana art gallery and robotic animation show on Bhagavad-Gita.
Timing & Expenses: You can visit it from 04:30am to 09:00am and 04:00pm to 09:00pm.
Mughal Gardens
It is a well-maintained garden to visit in Delhi. It is built in 90 acres and has little ponds and tombs of Sikandar Lodhi and Mohammad Shah. It is also called Lodhi Gardens and was built in 1444AD. They are redeveloped by British and now one of the best picnic spots of Delhi.
Timing & Expenses: You can visit it from 06:00 to 07:30 pm without any entry fees.
Teen Murti Bhawan
It is the residence of Jawahar Lal Nehru the first President of India. He lived in it till his death in 1964. It contains his books, and work, and it is maintained as the memorial of Jawahar Lal Nehru. It is situated near Rashtrapati Bhawan at Teen Murti Marg.
Timing & Expenses: It is closed on Monday and the timing is 10:00 am to 05:00 pm.
Akshardham Temple
It has been constructed under the patronage of the Bochasanvasi Aksharpurushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) and was inaugurated on November 7, 2005. The temple complex promises a unique glimpse of the Hindu religion and Indian culture. The Akshardham temple complex has been built on the banks of the serene River Yamuna and lies over a sprawling 100 acres of verdant lawns.
Timing & Expenses: It is closed on Monday and the timing is 09:30 am to 06:30 pm.
